Once again, South Coast APA members have shown their generosity in helping out those in need. In the wake of hurricane Katrina, we collected nearly $2,000 from our members, most of which was Summer Session prize checks returned for the cause. We rounded that number up to an even $2K and wrote a check to the Salvation Army for that amount. Because my employer is matching donations dollar-for-dollar, the Salvation Army received a total of $4,000 thanks to the generosity and selflessness of our members. Way to go!

How great to hear that $4000 was sent from APA to the Katrina victims.
Now let's send them more. Hopefully you are all aware of the 8 and 9 ball tournaments that Moorpark Billiards is holding on Oct 22nd and 23rd at 1pm both days, for the Katrina victims.
We will be raffling off a $1000 Ariel Carmelli hand made pool cue. All of the proceeds will be donated to the victims. Ariel has told me that he (and possibly his wife) will be at the tournament on Saturday. So come and meet him. Tickets will be sold Saturday and Sunday, with the drawing on Sunday.
This is strictly an APA event, so you must bring your apa card.
