"One more thing to keep in mind. The Brookers in North L.A./Ventura qualified 22 players last weekend and also held a qualifier yesterday, so I'm sure that number is at least close to double that now for them. So while they likely have 40-odd players qualified so far, we have 19. Don't get me wrong, 19 is a very respectable number and is very high compared to many other areas at this point, but are we going to let Southcoast APA kick our butts in qualifiers???????? Our numbers in the singles program should blow everyone out of the water, just like they do for the Southwest Challenge!

Yeah, we offer that option as well for our winners and runners-up.

Ah, I see, very clever use of the word "punctuation". Taz did remove the sentence that said "Especially with all those opportunities to play for free????" She did that because she didn't want the players up here to get the wrong impression.
For South Coast members, MVP's and singles boards are done differently in San Diego. SD APA gives their MVP's vouchers that can be used for entry onto singles boards. That's what Jill means when she says "play for free". We give out cash at our MVP tournaments.
For the record, only the winners on our singles boards pay anything. All of the "runners up" play for free.

So I was right on the money. Very impressive (your accomplishment I mean)! We have our work cut out for us! Congrats to all your qualifiers!
P.S. Are smilies punctuation? I guess they can be considered a form of punctuation, but I wasn't counting that. |

We have run a total of 42 boards to date. Not bad for February alone.
