It has come to my attention that there aren't too many positive or purely complementary posts up on our board. I wanted to start this category to give members an opportunity to give people (teammates or opponents) credit where its due. I'll start.
My opponent on thursday made a very sporting gesture. He had fouled the cue ball in such a way (barely touching it) that it was indiscernable to me or anyone on my team. He could have done what I have seen many people do and pretend it didn't happen and nobody would have known any different. Instead, he did the gentlemanly thing, stood up, and immediately declared he had fouled and it was ball in hand for me. The kicker is, this was at a late and fairly critical point in our match.

Yea man if your not honest when ya play you will think about it and that little thought can wreck your outcome. Carma will get ya. hahaha. |

I would also like to add my kudos for Jinny Hildebrand, Searounders.
Last Thursday, she was playing a match against with one of my teammates (my wife). We all know that attentions were split between matches and the "BIG GAME". Our player (a SL1) accidently moved the cue ball upon address. No one saw it, but my player called BOH on herself. Jinny proceeded to tell her to just move it back and continue shooting. It is the "spirit of the game" things like this that keep me in the APA.

I do applaud Ron, he has always been a gentlemen in matches we play and I too have been the recipient of this type of good sportsmanship from others in the APA...(more than once actually). There are many people who will honestly announce their own fowl... I also hope it is contagious and we all get to see it more often.
It is a pleasure to compete with someone who you feel you can trust to be honest like that and then everyone gets to relax, enjoy the match and feel good about the way they played....win or lose.
