Posted - 06/08/2007 : 12:16:44 AM I am from the San Bernardino APA and have taken a new job that will have me traveling all over southern california. What are some places to play in your area? Any tournaments? Just hate sitting in the hotel at nights and like to get out and play some pool. If not maybe watch a couple matches and kick back with a beer. Any help is greatly appreciated frank |

Posted - 06/10/2007 : 1:00:03 PM If you ever go into Oxnard, go check out Snooky's located @ 1657 S. Oxnard Blvd. (805)483-0881-in case you need directions. Mondays & Tuesdays you can play pool for free if you buy a beer or soda. From 6-10pm. There are 6 bar tables that are in good shape. So if you like to play pool or just want to practice, check out Snooky's. Don't let the name fool you, it's not a bad place. Enjoy good music, cold beer, and the game of 8-Ball or 9-Ball? Then join some good people at Snooky's. So maybe we will see you there. JoeynAnna |

Posted - 06/10/2007 : 11:58:08 AM Yep I spent 9 years in the Grove Oak area, got to go to Guntersville and watch the Budwieser Speed boat win a race on Lake Guntersville when I was about 12 years old. I'll never forget that one. We were dirt poor so we didn't get to do a lot of things but it was still a good life....just too slow paced for me.
I graduated from Fyffe High School in 1968 and Geraldine was always on our football and basket ball schedules. 8 classmates were on the Varsity Football team that year and they went to State but lost. Our team is the Maximillian II's and we play our next match at 2 PM today ....stop by and say hi if you are around. Enjoy Southern California too...

Posted - 06/10/2007 : 11:37:18 AM Thanks Tom
I actually stay there at the hotel where the Arena is located! I went there and about fell over when I saw two nicer big tables and 3 good bar tables. So far, however, there has never been anyone in there playing. I will check out PJs.
Yes I am from Alabama. A small town in south alabama named New Brockton. However I have been up Sand Mountain quite a bit. A couple friends of mine lived in Crossville and I have been to Albertville to play pool and to the furniture store there.
My HS played Geraldine in basketball once in the state basketball tournament. I bet it was nice being that close to the lake!
Thanks again |

Posted - 06/09/2007 : 09:05:08 AM Hi Frank, The APA Regionals are being held at the Arena Sports Bar on Enchanted Drive this week end.
9:00 AM till very late Saturday and Sunday You may not get to play much there but you can see some really good players doing their best to qualify for the Nationals in Las Vegas.
To play go to PJ's Pub on Avenida De Los Arboles and Moore Park Road in Thousand Oaks (the bar is in the corner of the little strip mall next to the vetenarian's). They have 4 bar tables (always in good shape) and there are almost always some good shooters in there.
Are you from Alabama? I was born in Ft. Payne and raised on Sand Mountain near a little town called Grove Oak. Roll Tide!

Posted - 06/09/2007 : 02:21:34 AM Thanks I will check that out. Hopefully I can find a tournament or two to play every now and again and a room to play at while in the different areas.
I will be in Simi Valley quite a bit. |
