Posted - 04/16/2007 : 08:07:38 AM April 14-15 was a pretty successful weekend. We didn't get as big a turnout as we had hoped, but it was enough to run an additional 40 qualifier boards, resulting in the following totals (provided all send in their fees):
8-Ball Skill Levels 2-3......... 8 qualified Skill Levels 4-5.........17 qualified (National Qualifier date TBA) Skill Levels 6-7.........22 qualified (National Qualifier date TBA) Most likely there will be a qualifier for SL 6s only. The 7s will have be wait a bit.
9-Ball Skill Levels 1-3.......... 11 qualified Skill Levels 4-5.......... 11 qualified Skill Levels 6-9.......... 13 qualified
Assuming we receive all fees, the first National Qualifiers (8-Ball SL 4-5; & 8-Ball SL 6s) will be run in May (target date May 20). We will set this upon our return from the National Singles Championship.
Don't forge to spread the word on the Singles Program. Thanks to your participation, South Coast APA will be the first league area to have finalists qualified for the 2008 National Singles Championships! ... And don't forget to get your lower skill level players involved. There are only a total of 24 players participating in the 8-Ball SL 2-3 (Champion will receive $15,000) and 25 participants in the 9-Ball SL1-3 tier (Champion will receive $10,000) of the 2007 National Singles Championship – the same as Champions in the mid & high tiers.

Posted - 04/20/2007 : 5:14:26 PM Well, it was nice to go to my first qualifier. Now any chance you can host another so I can actually play well enough to qualify? Boy did I stink!
It was nice to finally meet a certain un-named operator of the SCAPA though.....next time I play better! (I have to...I won zero, yes, zero games, let alone a single match!)
