ok, so we had 4 total 8 Ball Breaks last night out of 5 matches, probably 30 total games. Curious, what's the most you've seen?

After a quick count, here's what I have come up with. Since I have been captain of my 8-ball team, (at least 3 years) members of my team have COMBINED to sink 5 8-balls on the snap. On one of those, the white ball also went in resulting in immediate loss of game and quite a few irritated looks to the sky wondering why karma would kick us so swiftly in the butt. I have played about 160 8-ball matches in my career, and if my memory serves me correctly, I have accumulated 4 8-ball breaks. Granted, I don't often line up my break to try for one. Really, only at PJ's do I attempt it. Against me, my opponents have done it twice. Twice in my APA career have I seen players... take that back, three times I've seen players do it on consecutive breaks. Once our opponents did it to one of my players, once my player (same guy incidentally) did it to his opponent (strangely, the only two he has ever gotten according to him) and once, Tim Bond did it to me, however, the second resulted in the white ball also going in and loss of frame. Really, what I'm saying to you is, 4 in one night is quite remarkable. I've gone entire seasons in which nobody on my team nor anyone we played against did it a single time. Anyway, I wish you many more 8ball breaks in the future.

Steve (Flip) Lawrence, when he was still a 4, once won the lag then proceeded to snap the 8-Ball three times in a row, for a zero-inning match.

We had a player here in San Diego who broke and the cue ball went flying and landed on the table next to his (where another APA match was being played), and knocked the 8 in on that table! We gave him a patch for that one! |

That's AWESOME!!! Wouldn't it be fun if we included a page in the team packet at the beginning of every season for "Most unlikely/boneheaded/unbelievable play". Each team could make a submission and the winner would get a patch..... say..... with a skull and crossbones on it or something...

I remember Bobby Thompson's 8 ball breaks at the Bent Que, But I thought it was 4 in row. (First two in the left side pocket, the third in the right side pocket, and fouth back in the left side pocket.)
I do remember, for sure, that the streak ended when the 8 ball stopped an inch short of the left side pocket.
I am free on tuesday night if anyone is in need of racking lessons.
P.S. They were more like crackles than snaps, And one may have been a pop!
