| Hi! I was wondering if it's too late to join for the summer session and if any teams are looking for players. I live in Thousand Oaks. I have never played in a league before. Does every player have to play every week? Is it too late to sign up a new team? How many players is each team required to have? |

No, it's not too late. We have plenty of room for teams in our Wednesday night 9-Ball division and would love to add one more team and fill the bye in our Monday night 8-Ball division and .
You may either join an already existing team or better yet, make your own with some friends, family & co-workers. A team consists of a minimum of 5 players, with a maximum of 8 on your roster. 5 players will play matches each week.

| I will be on vacation until May 29. I think I can get a team together (all beginners) for either 8 or 9 ball. What do I have to do? |

Talk to your friends, choose a night of play (we REEEEEAAAAALLLLLYYYY need Wednesday night 9-Ball teams, hint, hint), then choose a location to call "home". That's where you'll play half the time. Once you know when and where, call us at (805) 388-2036 and we'll walk you through the rest. We will tell you where to go on your first night of play, and arrange for someone to meet you there and help you get started.
The sooner you can pull your friends together, the easier it will be for everyone. It takes at least five players to make a team, but even if you only have three or four, we can help with the rest, ESPECIALLY if you can play 9-Ball on wednesdays.

| Well, I would love to play 9 ball on Wednesday nights but I'm not sure if my friends are willing to commit to it. I am working on them. I need a little more info. What time are the games? How much does it cost to sign up a team? I'm not sure if I can get it all together before I leave on vacation @ noon tomorrow (Weds.) but I'll give it a shot if you can tell me what I need to know. We have been playing pretty regularly on Friday nights @ Moorpark Billiards so that would probably be where we would call "home." |

| After studying the "division stats" page I got the answer to one of my questions--the games start at 7:30 (at least for the division we're considering), right? How long do they usually last? I'm hoping that everyone else has to be at work the next day, too. |

The division you would be joining has a start time of 7:30pm. APA membership is $20 (annual) and must be paid on the first night you play a match (there is no grace period). The weekly team fee is $30 (standard procedure is to collect $6 from each of the 5 players who play a match; however, the full weekly fees must be paid even on nights when you or your opponent are short players). In addition, most bars / poolhalls charge their own fee of $1 to $2 per player for the use of the tables (green fees).
We can easily set your team up at Moorpark Billiards. I know they would welcome you (and any other new team wishing to join).
Have your friends show up on Wednesday night at 7:00pm at Moorpark billiards (ask for Phil) and we'll get them started. Phil (and perhaps I) will be there. Please drop us an email or call confirming. |

| I don't want you guys to get your hopes up too high. I don't think my friends are going to want to join the league just yet. I promise I will ask when I see them tonight. Even if they agree to it, none of us will be able to play this week. If they say no, would it be possible for me to join a team by myself? |

Teams can be added to a division up to week 4 of the session (make-up matches will need to be arranged for any missed weeks).
If you don't have enough players/friends to make a team, we can assist you in finding one. |

| One of my friends wants to watch a match to see how it all works at least once before making a decision. Another friend will play as long as his wife (the 1st friend) wants to. But the 2nd friend can't play this Weds. or next Weds. And I haven't heard back from the 3rd friend yet. I'll keep in touch. |
