I was in Dallas, Texas this past weekend and just like the post from alabama I wanted to go out and have a game. I asked the hotel staff where I might find a pool table and they directed me to a place called the Buffalo Cafe down the street in Plano,TX. I entered the bar/pool hall to find a collection of large trophies neatly arranged on one of the pool tables. I approached a very nice lady, I think her name was Sam, who had an APA logo shirt on. Turns out Sam is the local league operator and that I had stumbled on to the local 8 ball finals. I told her that i was here on business and that I played on thurs. 9 ball league in the Southcoast APA league. She asked who was the operator was and I told it was Taz Brooker. Her face lit up and said YES I have heard of her. She won the League operator of the year the woman told me. Honestly I didn't know this and of course I was very proud to be all the way out in a pool hall in Plano texas and to come from a league that has such a killer reputation!!! WAY TO GO TAZ and Phil as well of course BILL Oxnard thurs 9 ball
Thanks for the kind words and kudos, but I must set the record straight. Although we have been nominated (a great honor in of itself) several times, we have not YET won the award. Yearly team growth is part of the criteria. Our league grows yearly, but not at the rate of those who have won. We are very proud of making the list of nominees on a consistent basis as well as our reputation within the league operator network (250+ league operators).
