Besides the inaugural Tournament of Champions, another APA event was conducted over the past weekend. The preliminary rounds of the U.S. Amateur were held Saturday and Sunday in San Diego.
We would like to give a shout out to Joy Nelson, who came oh so close to qualifying for the championship rounds Nov. 2-4 in Atlanta. Joy made it all the way to the finals of her bracket, but was just barely edged out by Norma Vestey from San Diego.
