Is there anything that can be done about an employee of a location who is extremely rude and does things specifically to cause the visiting team to be adversely affected before and during play?
I'm talking about things such as having patrons fill up the time for playing on the table before the match starts so that we cannot warm up, intentionally not serving us for several minutes, clapping and cheering when we miss a shot, sexual harrassment and insulting personal characteristics about our players.
Because of these things and more, we have some players who are very uncomfortable going to this establishment, to the point of almost refusing, but at the same time, the employee is not an APA member.
Please let me know if we have any recourse. Thanks! |

Sounds like one rude dude
If you want to name names I would be happy to NOT frequent this establishment.
Maybe the lost of business would make a statement if other APA members also chose to not take their business there.

| Perhaps having a chat with the captain(s) of the team(s) that play out of that location and/or the bar manager would help. If that is unsuccessful, please give the office a call and we will try to see if we can help. It really is a shame this type of thing happens, and I agree with Tom -- the best way to make a statement is hitting them where it hurts, ie. the pocket book. |

| I feel for ya, tikigirl. I actually moved my team out of akrey's in Newbury Park because the Monday night bartender was a jerk. In fact, he encouraged his drunk, thug regulars to harrass my players during their turns, during their restroom visits, and just about every other moment. AND WE WERE THE HOME TEAM!!! While it wasn't instantly gratifying, we just stopped tipping him on drinks and then moved the team. I would stop short of calling us alcoholics, but we can put them back. Between my players and the visiting teams, I'm sure he's losing out on 30 to 40 bux in tips a week. Doesn't sound like much but do the math over the course of a couple of seasons. It's a nice chunk of change. |
