If & When did the top shooters for each tier and League Top Shooter stop being presented? I asked the league rep when he was presenting the 1st place trophies and he wasn't quite clear, but it sounded like there will not be trophies as in prior sessions.

At the end of each session there is a tournament for the "Top Shooter" in each tier from each division. The winner of that tournament gets a trophy as well as automatically qualifies for entry into the national singles regional qualifying tournament.
Trophies for top shooter, I believe, were stopped just about the time the APA went to the "skill level tier" format.

When was that? I received my trophy for skill level 4-5 about 3 sessions ago.

The change to the 3 tier National Singles Championship has been within the last 3-4 years. If you received a Top Shooter trophy,without having to participate in a "Top Shooter" tournament since then, then I am mistaken and sorry for the misinformation. All I can base this on is the way I believe it works up here (being Ventura county).

In Summer of 2002, we changed the structure of the Top Shooter tournament, making it six tournaments instead of two. In Fall of 2003, we changed the handling of the awards. Instead of one trophy per division (which almost always went to a 6 or 7), we started awarding an MVP patch to everyone invited to the tournament, with two trophies awarded in each tier. This made it a little easier for the lower skill level players to win a trophy.
If you won a trophy for 4-5, you won it in the MVP tournament, not for finishing at the top of the list in the regular session.
