Look, more than anything, this is a courtesy issue. Years ago, my team played out of Akreys, an establishment that, to put it loosely, turned a blind eye to smoking cigarettes. We are the Smoking Bandits after all, and this didn't bother us. However, we would encounter opponents who were sensitive to it, and if they asked, we would refrain from smoking near the tables.
Now, the marijuana thing is also a sensitivity thing. Bar owners are generally sensitive to people engaging in illegal activity on or in the direct vicinity of their premises. It shouldn't be a lot to ask to ask your players who like to smoke weed to exercise discretion.
Like Phil says, one apple is not indicative of the entire tree's fruit. But we DO participate in and represent an organization with a good reputation. The steps to further cultivate that reputation are fairly small and simple to take.

This is crazy .... Torsten (Hope I spelled it correct) Do you really think that "Perception is 90% of reality. While it is the individual who is partaking in the use weed, it still causes the perception that, "Whoa! What the @#$%? The pool league is a bunch of potheads?" "
Just wondering .... I mean what i do or you do on your time is your choice.......I just believe it is a matter of respect .... |

The way I see it 4 of the posts aren't about "this subject". With this one it'll be 5. So, it looks like you have 12 to go go and you can bet (again) that I HAVE verified this wagering verbage with "According to Hoyle" and "Snopes.com". If I had any brains at all I woulda put a time limit on it though.... And why would Victor jump on your side after all the times I let him kick my butt at pretty much every pool playing establishment in the Conejo Valley??!! Maybe it's a different Victor? I think there's a conspiracy looming about.....
And when are you going to play on a T.O. team again anyway?
I think the last time we played was at a 9-Ball challenge in Vegas (actually we didn't play each other it was team vs team) but for the life of me I can't remember how it turned out? |
